This workshop is an invitation to work on extracts from pieces from the exceptional repertory of Alvin Ailey. The company which the dancer founded in 1969, and with which he has created almost eighty ballets, is a monument in American dance, a symbol of diversity, and the heir of modern dance. Twenty-five years after the death of its founder, in 2018 the company celebrated the sixtieth anniversary of its creation. Troy Powell is today transmitting this heritage, as the artistic director of Ailey II, Alvin Ailey’s second company, the American Dance Theater. This is a unique chance to meet the transmitter of this essential heritage.
