Actions, mouvements et gestes

Paper edition

Actions, mouvements et gestes is an attempt to elucidate different ways of looking at movement through an analysis of choreographic practices. In this book, the dancer and choreographer Noé Soulier, associate artist at the CN D, explores ‘focales d’attention’ – conceptual lenses that offer a different perspective on movement and the body. This multi-faceted study, aimed at dance enthusiasts as well as dancers, is linked to conceptual art, philosophy and art theory. The author here seeks less to decipher the meaning of the works than to modify and enrich the many different ways of creating an experience out of them.
